about
This project is part of SAASIA’s ongoing effort to create early childhood education resources that reflect Samoan language, knowledge, and values.
The current focus is on developing a set of animated learning materials. With limited funding, SAASIA has begun work on five videos, starting with the siapo-making process. The footage has been collected and presented with voice-over narration, and further development into full animations is planned as resources allow.
The project will continue to grow with input from Aoga Amata educators, who are encouraged to share feedback and help shape future content. This is a long-term effort to build relevant and culturally grounded tools to support Samoan early learning environments.

mission
To support the preservation of Samoan heritage in Aotearoa New Zealand by working with Aoga Amata educators to develop educational resources grounded in Samoan culture.
This project focuses on creating tools that are practical, culturally relevant, and responsive to the needs of early childhood settings. Our aim is to work collaboratively with educators, improve access to meaningful materials, and help ensure young children grow up with a strong sense of identity alongside foundational learning.
